December Wrap Up

Hey there bookworms,
the year is almost over (thank the Gods!) and I managed to get some reading done in December. There's one book in particular I'm actually proud of finally finishing. Here's my last reading wrap up of 2020!

Top 5 Wednesday: Yeet 2020

Hey there bookworms,
I know I'm a day late but even though I haven't posted any T5W entries lately, I didn't want to miss yesterday's topic: Yeet 2020! This topic was proposed by Alex (The Scribe Owl), and I'll be talking about dystopias and post apocalyptic fiction so wild they feel like 2020. T5W is a weekly book blogging meme hosted by the official goodreads group over here.

Greek Mythology Book Tag

Hey there bookworms,
long time no see! I'm here with a tag today because I love those and I was looking for something quick and fun to post during holiday season! I hope you all had a great Christmas, or, in case you don't celebrate it, some nice relaxing days! I wasn't tagged to do this, but I saw this tag over at Alex from The Scribe Owl, and since I love mythology of all kinds I just had to give it a go.

November Wrap Up

Hey there bookworms,
November is almost over and I reached my reading goal this month! I'm now at 72 books (my goal was 70), although if I hadn't read that many comics in the last few months I wouldn't be where I am. So, thanks, Marvel and DC. Without further ado, here are all the books I read in November!

Top 5 Wednesday: No Thanks

Welcome back bookworms
to another T5W post! This week's topic is No Thanks. It's Thanksgiving in the United States this week, and hopefully all of us have something to be thankful for, but for today's topic I'm gonna discuss 5 characters who find themselves in a situation they are not thankful for. Throwback: Frankfurt Book Fair 2019

Hello bookworms,

even though I'm not really an outgoing type, I'm missing some things and events like crazy at the moment. One of them are conventions and book fairs, but all that I'd planned to visit in 2020 have been cancelled. So I thought why not post a little throwback to last year when everything was still normal? In October 2019, I visited the Frankfurt Book Fair, aka the world's biggest book convention, for the first time, and here's my little report!

T5W: Read in Translation

Hey there everyone,
today's T5W topic is Read in Translation, meaning I'll talk about books that I haven't read in their original language. Since I'm German, this is relatively easy for me. I decided to go with really popular books, and I'll be comparing covers for this prompt too. T5W is a weekly book blogging meme hosted by the official goodreads group, and today's topic came from Meira!

October Wrap Up

Hey there bookworms,
another month has passed! Can you believe it? October was a really great reading month for me. I actually set my goodreads goal from 65 up to 70 books because I'm doing so well at the moment. But then, some people maybe would say I'm cheating cause I've been reading a lot of comics. So here's my October reading wrap up!

T5W: Spooky Times

Hey there bookworms,

Halloween is approaching! Because of covid, I had to cancel my annual Halloween party, but I'm still looking forward to the day. I'll have a friend over and we'll dress up anyway and make pizza :)

Anyway, I didn't want to miss today's T5W topic: Spooky Times! I will be talking about five books that give off Halloween vibes. I don't really read horror, but I do enjoy some creepy elements here and there. T5W is a weekly book blogging meme currently hosted by Gabriela in the official goodreads group!

T5W: Books That Took Me the Longest to Finish

Hey there bookworms,
today's T5W topic is Books That Took Me the Longest to Finish. I used to be a very fast reader, but the older I get, the slower my reading seems to go, sadly. Still, there are some books that took me an inappropriate amount of time to finish! T5W is a weekly book blogging series hosted by the official goodreads group!

Top 5 Wednesday: Fairly Local

Hey there bookworms,

today's T5W topic is one I was really looking forward to: Fairly Local! Meet My New Bookshelves!

Hey there bookworms,

some months ago I spontaneously decided I'd like to remodel my room, and of course that included new bookshelves. Don't get me wrong, I loved my old shelves, but they were in the hallway and not in my living room, and I finally wanted my book collection in the room I spend most of my time in. So I ordered new shelves and some days ago, I had some friends over and we set them up.

Top 5 Wednesday: TL:DR

Hey there bookworms,

I haven't maganed to post anything for the past week, but I wanted to at least post something for today's T5W. Today's topic is TL:DR (Too long; didn't read), and it's about books (or other source material) I haven't read up until today even though I've already seen the movie/tv adaptation. Watching an adaptation before reading the book is often considered a "sin" in the book community, but with some titles, we just can't help it. T5W is a weekly book blogging meme hosted by the official goodreads group where Gabriela is providing us with weekly topics.

Top 5 Wednesday: Autumn Vibes

Hey there bookworms and blessed fall season!

The equinox was last week so Gabriela from the official T5W goodreads group took this opportunity for today's topic. I'm in the Northern hemisphere, so I will be writing about 5 books that give off autumn vibes! I can't even explain what I'm looking for in an autumn read, I guess I went for an overall magical (and maybe cozy) feeling. Happy reading!

September Wrap Up

Hey there bookworms,
another month is almost over and I honestly don't feel like I've accomplished much. I feel like I could have read more, but looking at the reading journal I keep it actually doesn't look that bad, and at this point I'm 4 books ahead of my goodreads challenge too. So without further ado, here are the books I've read in September!

Top 5 Wednesday: Reader Canon

Hey there bookworms,
here's to another Top 5 Wednesday post, and today's topic is Reader Canon! It's about books that are considered "classics" within a certain genre but that I haven't read. I decided to go with ya fantasy/dystopia for this one since that's still my most read genre. T5W is a weekly book blogging meme hosted by the official goodreads group and Gabriela (here's her YouTube) is setting the topics for us at the moment.

August Wrap Up

Hey there bookworms!
August is almost over and I decided I'd like to post monthly reading wrap ups on my blog. I'm already keeping a handwritten reading journal and of course I'm adding my books on goodreads, but blogging about it will hopefully be a fun way for me to once again remember all the books I've read in each past month! Hey there bookworms,
time flies and I'm back with another T5W post. T5W is a weekly book blogging meme hosted by the official goodreads group with Gabriela currently giving us new promps every month! So here are five of my favorite fighters, and it'd be certainly interesting to know their workout (and very embarrassing because I couldn't keep up)!

Tag: Do I Have That Book?

 Hey there bookworms,

I really love tags and I also love doing tags I haven't been tagged in! So today I will be doing the Do I Have That Book Challenge! The challenge was originally created by Tabby on the YouTube channel Keeping Tabs, and I saw the tag over at Alex from The Scribe Owl and decided it looked fun, so here I am! There are 20 questions in this challenge and I will turn my shelves upside down and try to find as many books as possible!

Top 5 Wednesday: Dream Adaptations

Hey there bookworms,
it's time for another T5W post and this week's topic is Dream Adaptations! So this is about books I'd like to see adapted as a movie or tv show. T5W is a weekly book blogging meme hosted by the official goodreads group where Gabriela (Violet Hawthorne on YouTube) is providing us with the topics at the moment.

I'm all for book to screen adaptations, but too many books (especially ya) have been made into movies already that ended up being a huge disappointment. Personally, I don't even care that much about the casting because I don't know that many actors anyway and you can do a lot with wigs, make up and cgi, but in some cases, casting is important for representation. That being said, here are my top 5 books I'd like to see adapted for the big (or small) screen!

Review: Black Widow Comic Series

Hey fellow bookworms,

Since I got into the Marvel fandom about half a year ago (the MCU to be precise, and shoutout to my lovely online bestie who introduced me to this world) I've been obsessed with all the characters. One of my favorites is Black Widow, and I recently decided I'd like to get into the comic world too. But the Marvel universe is huge, and where does one start without any prior knowledge? Luckily I got some recommendations and today I want to pass one on to you and review the 3-part Black Widow series by Nathan Edmondon!

Popular Books I Didn't Like

Hey there bookworms,
So I decided I'd make a post about some popular books that I didn't like as much as everyone else. I'm generally someone who always tries to look on the bright side and see at least some positive things in a book, but in general, the following ones just fell short for me. Please note that this is just my personal opinion. If you enjoyed these books I'm glad you did!

Working the Dream - A Day in the Bookstore

Hey fellow bookworms,
today I want to tell you something from my life outside of books. I want to tell you about my job at the local bookstore - the pros, the cons, and what I've learned in my time working there!

⬅ This is my home/work place for two days a week. I started working there about a year ago. It was a spontaneous decision, and it was one of the best I've ever made. That semester at uni was kind of boring and I didn't have many classes, so I thought, why not apply for a part-time job?! I was very lucky that they were actually looking for someone at the time I applied, and they told me I could start rather sooner than later.
